Becoming a Choix Chauffeur

Becoming a Chauffeur is an exciting professional experience that allows you to interact with various people throughout your occupation. It is quite attractive to applicants for the flexible hours and work schedule, combined with the types of vehicles you will operate, and your ability to generate tips in addition to your conventional pay.
 
To become a Choix Limousines Chauffeur, you need to meet Federal and State’s Requirements, have a great knowledge of your assigned city and how to get around during Rush Hour, Special Events, Construction, and/or Unforeseen Obstacles, in addition, you must have Good Driving Habits and Abilities.

Chauffeurs/Drivers Requirements:

  • Arizona Resident
  • Provide Proof of Residency
  • Have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 25 Years of Age
  • Have your Chauffeurs Driver License a Minimum 3 Years +
  • Clean Driving Record for a Minimum of 3 Years with No Accidents
  • Pass a General Knowledge Test, and a Road Test
  • Active Sky Harbor Ground-Transportation Badge is a +
  • Knowledge of the Phoenix area
  • Own a Smart Phone and Understand how to Operate it
  • Able to Operate a GPS on a Phone / Tablet
  • Pass Criminal Background
  • Pass Drug Test
  • Must have a Good Customer Service Attitude
  • Speak Fluent English, additional Fluent Languages are a +

Required Skills

Chauffeurs/Drivers are responsible for comprehending and abiding by all Federal, State, and Local Laws, Rules, and Regulations that Govern Limousine Transportation. Drivers/Chauffeurs are responsible for the Safety and Happiness of their passengers while keeping the roads safe for other motorists and pedestrians.
 
Chauffeurs/Drivers need a general knowledge of automotive mechanics, which will aid them in operating the assigned vehicle(s) safely this understanding will help you identify possible upcoming potential mechanical problems.
 
Drivers/Chauffeurs need a solid Interpersonal Skill to interact with passengers, as well as an understanding of how to utilize maps and/or GPS devices and navigate unfamiliar places safely. Chauffeurs/Drivers must have a Professional Demeanor that is tailored to the formal events and/or affluent clients you will come into contact with. 
 
Chauffeurs/Drivers are required to safely secure passenger(s) and transport client(s) to the destination(s) on time and without incident. It is also the responsibility of each/all Driver(s)/Chauffeur(s) in keeping the limousine(s) safe and clean, in addition to minimizing the use of fuel by using efficient routes.

License & Background Requirements

Every state you may/will travel to has its own Laws and Legal Requirements for Drivers/Chauffeurs and Limousine Operations through its Department: of Motor Vehicles, Transportation and/or Highway, Public Safety.
 
Chauffeurs/Drivers must hold a standard Class C Commercial Driver’s License or (CDL) in order to be a Chauffeur, and some States may require a special Chauffeur's License be awarded to Chauffeurs/Drivers by complete additional driver testing. States also Require Criminal Background Checks as well as Drug and Alcohol testing of all prospective Limousine Drivers.
 
The Federal Government requires Chauffeurs/Drivers who transport 16 or more passengers to have a Commercial CDL Class P Driver's License, which is necessary for driving some of the Larger Limousines and/or Limousine Buses or Travel Buses.

The Road Test Is Made Up of Three Basic Components:

  1. The pre-trip vehicle inspection – the driver inspects the vehicle while explaining to the examiner what they are inspecting and why.
  2. The control of the limousine – the test proctor asks the driver to maneuver forward, backward, and parking within traffic lanes, around cones, and/or other control mechanisms
  3. The traffic test – the examiner will ride along with the driver in the limousine on the main road and in traffic. The examiner may ask the driver to make specific turns, park in a designated area, make lane changes at a specified time, and perform other real-life limousine traffic-driving functions.

Note: U-TURNS are (PROHIBITED) in most, if not all Choix Limousines vehicles they are UNSAFE and UNACCEPTABLE!

As a Choix Limousines professional chauffeur, it is always important for Drivers/Chauffeurs to maintain a high standard of professionalism and be committed to providing excellent customer service.
 
Because Choix Limousines is responsible for our clients’ safety and our Chauffeurs/Drivers' actions, we hold all our professional chauffeurs to a high standard.
 
A good chauffeur will always inspect their vehicle before picking up a customer, keep their vehicle clean and well-stocked, arrive on time, and open and close doors for clients when entering or exiting the assigned vehicle(s), in addition to assisting all client(s) with any/all luggage and/or package(s).
 
A Choix Limousine Chauffeur will need to determine when communication with the client is necessary and/or desired. In addition, to be familiar with their local traffic conditions, know the quickest and safest routes, and able to provide clients with local knowledge.
